Chip repairs

A stone or other projectile hitting the windscreen is a common cause of glass damage, another is stress on the vehicle’s body from an accident.
Some drivers ignore a small scratch or chip in their windscreen, thinking it a minor annoyance. There are two reasons why this isn’t the case:

  1. Any glass default can impact the strength and safety of the windscreen and make it susceptible to further damage

  2. Air may be entering through the chip, which the human eye will register as a blurred area, thereby affecting your optical clarity

When repairing a chip that complies to the Australian Standard AS/NZS 2366.1:1999 this will result in your windscreen being as strong as before the damage occurred and will greatly improve the optical clarity of the repaired area.

A qualified and experienced auto glass technician will usually take about 30 to 45 minutes to repair a fault.
