Auto Glass Association Newsletter July 2023

Auto Glass Industry Trade Show

In March 2023 the AGA hosted our industry first Auto Glass Trade show in Sydney. The event was well received by the industry, with 18 exhibitors visited by hundreds of members from across Australia and New Zealand.

The event bought industry suppliers, technicians, business owners together in one central location, it created networking opportunities, show cased present and future technologies, tools of trade  and created an environment  for visitors to learn and build on their careers and invest in themselves for the future.

Here's what some of our visitors and exhibitors had to say.

" Great to engage with so many independents in one place"

"It was good to see our suppliers in a relaxed and informative situation, we would love to see other exhibitors in the future"

"It was very well presented and all exhibitors were very helpful, lot of range and great products available"

The AGA is now planning for the next Auto Glass Trade show to be held somewhere in Australia in 2025.

ADAS NSW

The AGA continues its fight in NSW on behalf of the industry, we received this recent clarification from NSW Customer Service (NSW Fair Trade).

An Auto Glazier may use a Diagnostic/Scan Tool to check for the presence of errors or faults in an ADAS system without the person being the holder of a Motor Vehicle Trade Certificate (MVTC) or Motor Vehicle Repairers Licence (MVRL)

However, a person must be the holder of a Motor Vehicle Trade Certificate (MVTC) and Motor Vehicle Repairers Licence (MVRL) to perform a recalibration that erases, deletes, alters, changes or otherwise amends the information stored within a vehicles electronic control module/s, including ADAS systems.
