14th April 2016: SAVE THE DATE the AGA is hosting the first industry meet and greet event on May 26 in Sydney. Invitations will be posted next week to all industry stakeholders, along with an exciting announcement regarding Cert III in Automotive Glazing Technology. Email to ensure your name is on the list 

21st April 2015: The AGA has released a fact sheet for our auto glass technicians, Fact Sheet - competition and consumer law. It details a free online training program for small business owners interested in learning about their rights and responsibilities when it comes to dealing with the public and other businesses.

Industry alert, November 2014: the AGA AGM will be held on Wednesday 3rd December, 2014 at the Hudson Fysh Meeting Room, Holiday Inn Sydney Airport, Cnr Bourke Road & O’Riordan Street, Mascot, NSW 2020, starting 9:30 am – 10:00 am. 30th October 2014: The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries, representing car makers and importers, has pulled out of negotiations for a code of conduct between independent repairers and car companies to allow access to vehicle service and repair data. It has in fact announced intent to establish its own voluntary code of conduct for car servicing that restricts the availability of this information to independent repairers. Read more here.

9th August 2014: The dedicated AGA Training Sub-Committee traveled from far and wide to meet in Sydney to develop an AGA Online Induction Course. To be launched later this year, the course will provide an introduction to commonly used terminology. 

01st July 2014: all AGA members are invited to attend the AGA annual general meeting at the AWA offices, 71 Ridge Street, Gordon, Sydney, NSW, on Wednesday, 26th November 2014

24th June 2014: AGA releases 'winter window warning' media release to Maitland and Hunter Valley newspapers

19th June 2014: Standards Australia announces the AGA submission to review the standard AS4739-2002 Direct Glazed automotive glass replacement – Light vehicles has been approved and will be reviewed by its Standards Development Committee. This marks the successful completion of the first step towards a revision of the standard.

Since launching last year a key focus of the AGA has been reworking the standard. This week’s announcement proves the association is on track with this goal, again highlighting the import and necessity of an industry body that looks towards the future to protect the auto glass industry and its stakeholders.
